  • true story, no joke

Today my boss turned to me unexpectedly and said

Boss: remember those days when people were all freaked out by cookies?
Jnphrly: really? when were people afraid of cookies, you mean, like, during the low carb craze?
Boss: (stares in disbelief) I'm talking about computer cookies
    Jnphrly: (thinks) Oh shit...

According to wikipedia: HTTP cookies, or more commonly referred to as Web cookies, tracking cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a Web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server.ng which inspired both the idea and the name of HTTP cookies.
